San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood has a reputation for affluence, but make no mistake about it — we treat everyone the same at Roark Gyms.

No matter who you are, we aim to challenge our clients and help them improve in ways they might not have thought were possible. Our founder, James White, has developed a unique training strategy, the Roark Method, which focuses on a blend of strength, power and conditioning. Our trainers will tailor the method to fit your journey.

Our approach has even attracted the attention of Hollywood, as we’ve developed a reputation as a training ground for the casts of TV shows and movies. From the main cast of the hit Starz series “Black Sails” to leading actress Milla Jovovich, we’ve helped a variety of actors achieve body-altering results.

Our Nob Hill facility opened two years ago near the heart of the neighborhood, which means residents can access top-tier equipment within a reasonable walking distance of their homes and prominent attractions like Lafayette Park.

How We Structure Our Fitness Classes in Nob Hill

While activities vary depending on each session, every class lasts one hour and features a dynamic, 10-minute warmup to get your blood pumping.

Our goal is to set you up for long-term change, which means the activities continually rotate to keep your body evolving in preparation for any circumstance. We offer dedicated conditioning training in Nob Hill for men and women, but you are welcome to choose how you work out with us.

In addition to our standard classes, we also hold clinics that demonstrate proper techniques and form.

We Offer Different Plans

If you need to maintain flexibility from a financial or chronological perspective, you can select from 3-, 6- or 12-month agreements that align best with your lifestyle and what you’re willing to sacrifice. You can decide to pay for unlimited classes per week or three classes per week, too. Your membership also allows you entry into the newly opened SoMa location, which is just under two miles away.

Vincent is the general manager and training director of Roark Gyms in Nob Hill, San Francisco. He is highly qualified, holding a degree in Kinesiology as well as NCSA and XPS certifications.
